Denise McRae

Denise has over 20 years’ direct marketing experience, applying the best direct marketing principles to small independent businesses and FTSE 100 companies in a pragmatic way that suits their business structures.

As Managing Director of Guthy-Renker Europe, the EU subsidiary of the billion dollar US business, she helped to expand it by 50% in the first year. She was a founder member of Insight Music, the leading pan-European TV mail order music brand. She took Insight from a standing start to set up in six countries in less than six months, and expanded the business Europewide within three years.

Her direct marketing career started in 1988 at Wunderman Telelab, where she successfully launched and managed a number of inbound and outbound telemarketing campaigns for clients including the AA, Wiggins Teape, Burson-Marsteller and Johnson & Johnson. After Wunderman, Denise became a founder member of EHS Answers, the telemarketing arm of the direct marketing agency Evans Hunt Scott, where success with in-house projects led to wins from other agencies. Major clients included Citroen, the RAC and Commodore Computers.

 

Helen Wilkinson

Helen has a wealth of experience in key aspects of advertising and marketing, spanning 17 years. She has a proven track-record of building and developing successful direct marketing businesses.

Before co-founding Buzz Direct Marketing, Helen was CEO for TV Shop UK Ltd. Under her watch, turnover and profitability rose significantly, internet sales grew by 400% and TV Shop's share of an increasingly competitive market increased.

She was one of the three founding members of Insight Music, developed to provide a Direct Response sales outlet for Polygram/Universal Music across the UK and Europe. There she was responsible for sales and marketing and product development and she grew Insight into the leading music direct response advertiser in this pan-European marketplace.

As part of an MBO of Insight and later a sale to EMI, she worked with major music labels and developed new revenue streams for the benefit of retail sales in conjunction with direct response activity.

Prior to Insight Music, she cut her direct marketing teeth working with Time Life and as a marketer in the financial services advertising sector.
